Wild America

The last two weeks have been wild. Real wild. In good ways and bad...but mostly for the good.

Without going into details, I'll highlight one important fact. I've become hopelessly enamored of a better of the opposite sex and recently proposed to her. Happily, she said yes.

So, within a year, the Doughty Traveler won't be traveling alone, if he can help it. There will come times, of course, when business or other needs compel me to take to the road solo, but hopefully, those occasions will be few and far between. Also, given the breadwinning capacity of the best-beloved, the bonds of matrimony might actually increase the likelihood of travel, particularly regionally in the U.S.

Yes, my attachment to the one-and-only extends far beyond travel. But given the nature of this particular journal, I think it best to treat my life as if I really were entirely one-dimensional and all other aspects of existence merely fit in beside the primary function of traveling. Of course, were that the case, perhaps I ought to be traveling more, and talking about the random articles I read about less. But hey, the travels of the mind count for something...I imagine.

Regardless, I just wanted to announce that good news. Much more happening, too much to tell. Instead, I'll simply saddle anyone who cares to visit these parts with my summaries of the articles I'm reading, as I have been wont to do.
