Curious Word: Nebbish

I'm not sure why, though I suspect P.G. Wodehouse, but nebbish has been floating through my head for days. I finally broke down and looked it up.

nebbish:

NOUN: A person regarded as weak-willed or timid.
ETYMOLOGY: Yiddish nebekh, poor, unfortunate, of Slavic origin.
