On the Road: Explained

Well, the trip to Yellowstone (my most recent real traveling) was, admittedly, just a wee bit ago...ahem. August. First week. Regardless, this being, in its conception anyway, a travel blog (though obviously not such for, um, a year), I thought it only made sense to regularly, if not on a daily basis, include a story from on the road. So, there’s a new topic joining the motley team at The Doughty Traveler: On the Road. Yes, you may know it as the title of a beat generation work of great import...well, that’s exactly how I know the expression. Regardless, I couldn’t come up with something better (and you can’t really expect me to best Jack Kerouac, though if you did have those kind of expectations, it would make me feel nice right up until the moment I failed them). So, On the Road (followed by a trusty semicolon and extended title) will tip you off to the advent of a traveling tale (er, a tale of travels, I should say, not an itinerant invention or a peripatetic parable).

Narratives in this category will be drawn from past travel experiences, the product of whatever spark happens to stir the noodle. And that’s all there is to it. Consider yourself warned.

P.S. No, I’m not going to write a travel story right now. I’m pooped. Good night.
