Less Than Serious

MIC Contest: Entry IV

For those interested in the MIC contest, but less than thrilled about some of the quotes I've been putting up, here's a happier one. Same rules apply. Note that this article is on the internet, so it's probably easier to find crack off the bat. And just so you know, if you post a comment, unless you have a Blogger username (I think) or sign it, I won't know who wrote the comment. So, all you commenters, let me know who you are. Now, to the quote:

Then there’s another sticky issue: How best to take care of the space sick traveler.

Paragon’s MacCallum and Anderson said that active control of odors from vomiting is a must, as is rapid removal of airborne vomit.

"Paying $200,000 to dodge last night’s dinner – someone else’s -- will sour the experience," MacCallum told _______
(note: name deleted as it would make finding the article too easy), and would rein in post-flight enthusiastic selling to your next clients by previous clients.

Have fun with it.

Forget losing your lunch, what about losing your life? What if you have a heart attack or come down with some other unforeseen condition and need immediate medical attention? These touristy space cruises will need to be outfitted with mini hospitals.

In space, there's no turning around or stopping at the nearest town if someone gets sick. You've got to have an operating room and the full range of tools right there. Not to mention a (space-) ship doctor who knows how to use that stuff.

Amusing comment, Anonymous. Unless that was intentional, I'd just like to remind readers that unless you leave your name, I don't know who you are. For the average browser, I imagine that's not an issue, but if you're interested in your identity being tied to a comment, you'll have to remember to sign off like this.

The Navigator
(Or something equally obnoxious)

P.S. That won't be necessary if you have Blogger name, I think, but even in that case, for the purpose of the contest, you might want your name to be known.
