A Sad Announcement

Readers, unfortunately, I must make a sad announcement. The long-running MIC Contest, must be temporarily suspended. Never fear, the contest is not over. Rather it is merely undergoing a few seasonal changes that will allow it to be prolonged into the fall. The major reason, you may ask? After a quick examination of the level of funding for the contest, it appears that it got short shrift in the latest Doughty Traveler budget appropriations bill that went through Congress. Thus, until private revenue makes up this shortfall, we will suspend the contest and the awarding of prizes that would have necessarily followed from its conclusion in two weeks. Don't worry, it will resume eventually...just when, I couldn't say.
