Back in Action
It’s been quite some time since this blog had to put up with my idle musings. Now, with the end of the collegiate experience, in its undergraduate form anyway, swiftly drawing nigh, I figured I had an excuse to take to writing again. I have to admit, I’m not actively traveling in the typical sense of the word, but I’m making the transition from one time of life and into the next. That seems reason enough to let the blubbery bundle of nostalgia that passes for my emotions these days escape into the ether for friends and family to view, however unlikely such an audience exists.
There it is. Four years of unfettered freedom winding down and the long shadow of the real world finally falls on my carefree life, as common as a cloud on the Kapiti Plain.
But let’s not get carried away. As I’m constantly telling at least one soon-to-be alum of Gettysburg College, the twilight of this suspended childhood is the dawn of a greater and more significant adulthood. There’s a world waiting to be explored, adventures waiting to be had, and precious little time for shedding delicate tears of remorse that time was born with such fleet feet. Boisterously celebrating the past, preferably with a bottle of the bubbly in hand: now, that’s to lauded.
To that end, I’ve resumed this humble, and possibly unwitnessed chronicle of the adventures and thoughts of a wandering student, even though I’m wandering close to home. Los Angeles, its environs and whatever minutia happen to be traversing my corpus callosum will be the subject matter.
All the best,
The Navigator
