24...
......hours until Steve Jobs' keynote. Well, to be more precise, I believe it's almost 24 and a half hours, but let's not let's not linger too long in accuracy.
A roundup of my favorite recent Mac-related headlines (mostly related to the madness about to erupt on stage at the Moscone Center, but not entirely so):
- Report: Apple to ‘touch off nuclear war’ with ‘iPhone’ that’s more ‘pocket Mac’ than mobile phone: Any time you can use nukes and Apple in the same headline, I'm all for it.
- Ripe in Cupertino: an Apple with 8 cores: Immediate bonus points for working in an apple pun, but the awesomeness of this news stems from the monster desktop it claims is about to be unleashed.
- Gates Sets Stage for Apple Battle: I assume this headline means that Gates has taken up janitorial duties for Apple's event staff...in which position he may actually be able to do some real damage (horrifyingly enough).
- Boston Globe: Is legendary Apple CEO Steve Jobs on the way out? No. Next.
- 22-year Apple vet: ‘I am 99% confident we will see an Apple phone next week’ Hrm, I'm curious as to whether he's a "vet" because of his very recent firing from Apple (say, after he made this prediction) or because he managed to live through a barrage from His Steveness. That or he's just another dude predicting a phone from Apple (in which case, *GASP*, WHAAAAAT? An Apple phone? STOP THE PRESSES!)
