On the Street Where I Live

It's always comforting read emails like the following. I should note that I live on the 2600 block of Orchard and it's not a particularly long block, and that I had been walking on said block mere minutes before the incident in question. Ah, USC.

The University of Southern California Department of Public Safety is providing this notice of a criminal incident that occurred in our community in order to provide information that may help in avoiding a similar crime or provide information to solve this crime. This notice is also intended to meet the requirements of the "Timely Notice" provisions of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistic Act of 1998.

ROBBERY

DATE & TIME OF OCCURRENCE: April 8, 2006 at approximately 9:15pm.

LOCATION: 2600 block of Orchard Avenue

REPORTED OFFENSE: Three complainants were walking when the suspect vehicle pulled next to them and stopped. The passenger exited the vehicle, approached them, displayed a weapon and demanded property. The complainants complied, and the suspects fled in the vehicle.

SUSPECT DESCRIPTION (provided by complainant)
Suspect 1 - PASSENGER -- Male, black, 6'2" tall, 180 pounds, 20 yrs old, wearing a black tee shirt, and white undershirt.
Suspect 2 - DRIVER -- Male, black, wearing dark clothing - No additional descriptive information is available because the driver did not exit the vehicle.

SUSPECT VEHICLE: Blue Chevy Lumina sedan. The complainants were able to obtain a California license plate. That vehicle is currently being investigated.
