For some reason, I've got a special affection for well-delivered lines that convey such a sentiment. Even if it's impossible, it must be done. Even if it can't be done, you have to. Failure cannot be considered because life will not continue...

In this case, Catullus wasn't telling a young Ranger that he had to climb the heights at Omaha Beach or Overlord might fail...he was trying to forget a girl.

Ah, what the hell, at least he produced a great line.
