On The Road Again

Well, I'm on the road again. More precisely, we're on the road again. This trip, unlike most, if not all recent travels, isn't solo. In fact, it's very much un-solo...er, well accompanied, and not like a violinist playing with Andrew Orihuela. I'm on the road with the family.

For a variety of reasons, we're in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Here, the why really pales when compared with the what. Jackson Hole is an hour from Yellowstone, a quarter of that to Les Grands Tetons, and some of the world's best fly-fishing within walking distance of town. In the winter, moose and elk are regular sites and we're not far from bear and wolf country. It's Wild America to a tee, the classic image of the Great Outdoors of America, more green than the Southwest I spent my youth driving through.

The country is spectacular and the company hilarious. I promise a full recounting of the most worthy and eventful happenings. At the moment, however, I'm too overcome by Leo Strauss writing about The Republic to be able to stay awake, much less sit and type. So, the tales will have to wait until after tomorrow's trail ride, though they should come in before the whitewater rafting (never been before...I must say I'm excited, even if they're Class I) on Wednesday.
