JFK Redux

What fun simulations can be...that is, if everyone gets on board and tries to play their roles to the hilt. Which is exactly what this group did:

The scenario we played was called "Cold War-1960s," beginning in 1960 and continuing until the players triggered a nuclear holocaust, or time ran out--whichever came first. I am glad to say that we managed to avoid the former (although there were some tactical nukes thrown around in Korea toward the end of the day).
In a very similar simulation for Prof. Glass's American Foreign Policy class. As the Chinese leader, I invaded North Korea, taking out their nuclear facilities with commandos beforehand. My scrupulously researched maneuvers (I had determined the various divisions that were positioned along the border, and knew the various crack units availble for the initial airborne assault) were magnificently successful in throwing everything into chaos. One of shining academic moments.
