The "Jewish Lobby"

I have little authority, less experience, and fewer new ideas when it comes to anything as big as foreign policy. But I do know that John J. Mearsheimer and Stephen M. Walt's "The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy," is a crappy paper.

There are myriad reasons one could cite, and cited they have been over the past weeks and month and a half or so. Benny Morris, though, does a great job in pointing out the simple historical inaccuracies (which sound more to me like blatant lies) that run rampant throughout this "paper." Yet another foolish pseudo-academic attack on American support for Israel would not normally merit mention. The staying power of these clowns and their ridiculous paper (and the high esteem they are held in), though, are extraordinary. The two have finally agreed to the first interview since the release of the paper, conveniently enough to Robert Fisk.

More on that topic if it is merited, but for the moment, Morris' debunking provides excellent reading.
